Makers Union PDX
is bringing the magic back to Slabtown storefronts this holiday season. While COVID has made shopping at our favorite small businesses more difficult, they’ve made it a bit easier with their pop-up window shops.
Support Local, a series of pop-ups in vacant storefronts throughout Portland is a new series that proudly displays the work of local makers. Passery-bys who see items they wish to purchase simply scan the QR code on the window to find the item online. It’s a new way to window shop.
Due to Covid-19, many makers are lacking their traditional outlets for sales, including holiday marketplaces. This contactless opportunity is a clever way to get products in front of consumers during this difficult time, while also bringing life to our main streets in a safe and accessible way. This project supports “the energy and vibrancy of Portland and it’s creatives,” says Cameo Konfst of OrganicsXOddities.
You can catch one of the windows at Raleigh Slabtown
, our newest collection of apartment homes. Everyone loves a gritty underdog story, and Slabtown is it. This old school warehouse area is finding new life as a vibrant neighborhood with boatloads of history and character. And Raleigh Slabtown is the home base in the middle of it all. Free-spirited, nostalgic, and eclectic – we embrace all the things that make Portland – well, Portland.
We call that a perfect partnership.
