Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching, and like most people, you’ve probably called around to a few restaurants and realized you’re a bit late to the game. Without a reservation in sight, and armed with little more than a grocery store box of candy, here are some ideas on how to plan a last-minute Valentine’s Day date that would make even the most cold-hearted blush.Indoor Picnic
It’s no secret that the weather has been miserable lately. Skip the romantic picnic on a grassy hillside and have one in your living room instead. Spread out a blanket, make up some gourmet sandwiches (or snag some delivery from DoorDash instead), and turn your television into a crackling fire. It’s the perfect getaway without having to get away.
At Home Wine Tasting
There’s a good chance that most of the local vineyards are already booked for private tastings, but there is no reason you can’t have one at home. Pick out wine together at your local wine depot, and pair your selections with a meat and cheese plate. Dim the lights and pop on some tunes, and it will be just like you’re relaxing on a patio in Napa.
Themed Dinner and a Movie
Pair one of the most romantic movies of all time with a cuisine to match. Pair fresh salmon with Sleepless in Seattle or homemade spaghetti and meatballs with Roman Holiday. Don’t skimp on the dessert, either. Cheesecake goes great with Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
Catch the Sunset
You can always count on a beautiful sunset as a romantic moment. Find a cozy spot on one of our rooftop decks, or watch from your window. Brings snacks and wine, or just enjoy one another’s company as the day comes to a close. As the sun slowly fades and the moon begins to rise, look for constellations in the night sky.
The couple that works out together, stays together, and there is nothing more important than a little self-love. Check out a local fitness class together, or pop down to your Neighborhood gym for a workout of your own creation. After you work up a sweat together, indulge in a little cheat meal. After all, you earned it.
