Hello Fall: Fresh Ideas for Pumpkin Décor

'Tis the season for pumpkin everything. Pumpkin spice lattes, chocolate chip pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie ... the options are endless. Here's how to add a little pumpkin spice to your home with a new take on fall decor.

Killer Pumpkins

We’re loving these quick and easy trends this year. The best part? No carving necessary, so your pumpkins will last longer and can even become part of your Thanksgiving décor.

Sparkle & Shine
Add some bling to white pumpkins with sparkly confetti or glitter. Simply brush on Elmer’s glue in a pattern, like polka dots or stripes. Or coat the whole top with trails down the sides. Then sprinkle. Instant glamour!

Lace & Henna Doodles
We love this elegant black and white look. All you need is a black sharpie on a white pumpkin. Get inspiration from mandalas, or add your own twist with geometric patterns or delicate lace-inspired designs. For more color, reach for the neon sharpies.

Hand Painted
Think beyond the classic painted faces and go for fun patterns or messages. Play around with stencils, simple dots or white words on a black background. It’s easy to make a big impact. Go chic with metallic paint.

Scary Good Centerpieces

Here are three tablescapes sure to impress.

The Pile
Beyond easy, but still stunning. Strew a variety of mini pumpkins down the center of your table. If you want to get fancy, add some leaves—eucalyptus and ornamental cabbages work great—or votive candles.

Tealights
Speaking of candles… mini pumpkins and gourds are the perfect size for votive candles. The easiest way to make these is to use a drill for the initial hole, then fine tune it with a spoon. Have some fun with different sizes and shapes.

Succulent Arrangement
You can carve into the pumpkin or go for a longer-lasting non-carve option. Plenty of Halloween shops carry ghost, skeleton, and other spooky scary figurines that make a perfect home for succulents. Impressive!

Door Décor to Die For

Of course, before anyone gets to see your fabulous indoor décor, they see your front door. This year, steer clear of the store-bought skeletons and get creative with real mini pumpkins and gourds. They’re the perfect addition wired onto a grapevine wreath. Add some spooky plastic spiders for Halloween or a big bow to carry you through November. Add a touch of magic with tiny battery-powered fairy lights.
