North Bay

Homeskillet, Alameda
With fresh, handmade donuts daily and delicious, hearty breakfasts on hand, there is literally something for everyone. Open early for those that like to get a jump start on the day, there is no better place to indulge.

Chop Bar, Alameda
Chop Bar is a tiny space that packs some serious punch. Egg dishes are served with home fries and San Francisco favorite Acme bread. The portions are huge and the service is friendly. Try the Eggs ala Cazuela with Veggie Mojo.

San Francisco

Cracked and Battered, San Francisco
If you’re a fan of matcha green tea, this is the place to go. But make sure you arrive early, as they sell out quickly. Other menu favorites are the lemon ricotta pancakes and chicken and waffles. Use Yelp waitlist to add your name as soon as doors open to save yourself some time in line.

Farm : Table, San Francisco
This local restaurant specializes in local, sustainable, homemade ingredients – literally from farm to table. The best part? Furry friends are welcome, and even receive a special treat from the servers.

Café Borrone, Menlo Park
Café Borrone specializes in all the breakfast classics from buttermilk pancakes to house-made granola. With freshly squeezed juice on the side (orange grapefruit is a must!) and plenty of outdoor seating, this spot is a sunny day haven.

Apple Fritter, San Mateo
A cozy little diner tucked among office parks, Apple Fritter is a hidden delight. Their donuts are to die for, and don’t get us started on the tater tots. You can even get any of their breakfast sandwiches on a donut instead of your standard bun. You might want to schedule a workout in the afternoon if you start here in the morning.

South Bay

The Table, Willow Glen
The Table specializes in bringing good food and good people together. Banquet style tables encourage you to get to know your neighbor while you dig into a flaky biscuit topped with savory gravy. Don’t skip the Hangtown Fry, an open-faced omelet with fried oysters and bacon.

The Breakfast Club, San Jose
The omelets are huge, the pancakes are delightful, and the brunch cocktails are handcrafted to perfection. You can always expect a line outside of The Breakfast Club on the weekends, so make sure you arrive early. Check out the seasonal specials board on the way in for the best local options.
