Explore the Bay Area: Fourth of July Events

Red, white, and boom. As we welcome the Fourth of July to the Bay Area, here are some local events that are sure to kick off your holiday with a bang.

Explore the Bay Area: Fourth of July Events
Palo Alto’s 37th Annual Chili Cook-off
What better way to celebrate America than stuffing your face with an American classic? Whether you like your chili over cornbread, slathered over a hot dog, or served up straight, Palo Alto’s Chili Cook-Off has something for everyone.

Redwood City 4th of July Parade, Festival, and Fireworks
For the more active-minded, take part in Redwood City's holiday 5k. Or if you’re more carb inclined, join the Redwood City Fire Department for a pancake breakfast. All the sticky sweet proceeds benefit the Redwood City Firefighters Association.

Foster City Fourth of July Celebration
Start the day with a spar-spangled dog parade and keep the fun going with live music, food, and activities for the whole family. You don’t want to miss the grand finale – a fireworks show over the lagoons.

Santa Clara’s Great America July 4th Celebration
Is there anywhere better to catch a fireworks show than from on top of a roller coaster? Santa Clara’s Great America July 4th Celebration will have everything from mouthwatering barbecue, to an impressive fireworks show. Plus, all current and past military members can enjoy free admission to the park.

Red, White & Boom! Milpitas Fireworks & Concert
Start with a free pool party at the Milpitas Sports Center before heading over to the fairgrounds for the Red, White and BOOM! Concert featuring “No Water After Midnight.” The grand finale? A fireworks show, of course.

Fourth of July at Shoreline
One of Northern California's longest running fireworks events returns to Shoreline Amphitheatre on July 4th with the San Francisco Symphony in a special celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. Take in the fireworks with a live soundtrack from the Bay Area’s finest orchestra.

If you want to avoid the crowds and staying home is more your thing, we have a simple recommendation. Head up to the rooftop deck, bring some lemonade, and watch as the peninsula lights up around you with fireworks.
